Brasa OS

Presentation:
Brasa OS is a Linux distribution based on Debian, which has its huge repository, lightweight graphical interface and custom packages built, resulting in superior performance.


The proposal is deliver a fast, stable and yet simple system, with the basics necessary to customize as you wish.
It is a revolutionary system designed to be the first to install packages for custom build, with the simple command apt-build.


Brasa OS is one of the fastest Linux Distributions of World !


Dependencies:
Internet.


System Installation:
1 - Record system image on a CD
2 - With Internet, install the primary system from the CD without graphical environments or other packages.
3 - Log in as root.
4 - Mount the cd-rom with the command mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom
5 - Run the script sh /media/cdrom/installsys/installsys.sh
6 - Answer what level of optimization and what's your processor.


Installation and uninstallation of packages:
Search for packages: apt-cache search <package_name>
Installing packages: apt-build install <package_name>
Uninstalling packages: apt-get purge <package_name>
Installation of binary packages: apt-get install <package_name>
System upgrade: apt-build upgrade


Recommended packages: 
Asunder - CD ripper and mp3 encoder - apt-build install asunder
Brasero - CD burner - apt-build install brasero brasero-cdrkit
Gimp - Graphic editor - apt-build install gimp
Openoffice.org - office suite with a text editor and spreadsheet - apt-build install openoffice.org
VLC - Multimedia Player - apt-build install vlc

Important:
All additional packages are downloaded and compiled.
It is highly recommended broadband Internet and a good processor.
After the installation the user will have a simple system with graphical interface, where you can install other packages, all with apt-build.
If a package does not have the source code available, you can install the binaries ready, no optimized build,  with the command apt-get install <package_name>.
The script installsys.sh is designed for use the cdrom mounted on /media /cdrom
This system can be installed on computers that already have other systems, taking care to properly configure the partitioning.
